San Roque Spanish Colonial Santos. 18th or 19th C Artist-made devotional carving depicts St. Roc, a 13th C Frenchman who tended plague victims after his own miraculous cure. The saint is depicted as a pilgrim and reveals marks of the plague on his thigh. He is joined by the dog who fed him in the wideness and the angel who cured him.
